The mask also grants Rick the ability to transform into various creatures, each with their own unique abilities, which he can use to his advantage in battle. The game is a 2D side-scroller, and gameplay revolves around Rick fighting his way through hordes of enemies, using the mask's power to defeat them. Now, with the power of the mask, Rick must travel to the demon's lair and put an end to the Splatterhouse once and for all. The game follows Rick Taylor, who, after being mortally wounded by the demon Splatterhouse, is brought back to life by the mysterious mask of Splatterhouse. Splatterhouse 3, released in 1993 for the Sega Genesis, is the third and final game in the Splatterhouse series.
